Free maintenance downloads

Three practical tools you can use in your plant this week.

No sign-up and no email needed. They are built on the Maintenance Standards Framework, so they work together with the maturity assessment. Change them to fit your plant.

Excel

Spare parts criticality template

Classify parts by value (ABC), criticality (VED) and movement (FSN) and get a suggested stocking rule for each part.

  • Scores criticality from safety, production, lead time and substitutes
  • Summary of parts and stock value by class
  • Settings you can change; example rows included
Download Excel

Works with up to 200 parts. Method explained in the spare parts guide.

PDF

Preventive maintenance audit checklist

Check whether your PM system is planned, executed and improved, not just scheduled.

  • Six areas, 26 checks
  • Simple scoring: Yes, Partly, No
  • Space for notes and the top three gaps
Download PDF

2 pages, A4. Print and use on the shop floor.

PDF

New plant or line readiness checklist

Check that maintenance is ready before production starts, not after the first breakdown.

  • Seven areas, 29 checks
  • People, data, PM, spares, tools, safety and handover
  • Readiness score and gap list
Download PDF

2 pages, A4. Use it before start-up or go-live.

How to use themTake the free assessment first to see your weakest pillar. Then pick the tool that matches it: the PM checklist for planning and reliability, the spare parts template for spare parts, and the readiness checklist for any new line.

A note on the numbers

The thresholds, weights and scoring bands in these files are my suggested starting values, based on common practice. They are not an industry standard. Review them with your team and adjust them to your plant.
